Living in New England is one thing. It's a gorgeous section of the country with natural mountains, forests, lakes, and greenery.
Driving in New England is another story. Once spring, summer, and autumn have moved on, there is WINTER.
This year, however, autumn took a nosedive into winter weather.
Last weekend, we got hit with a huge, and I mean HUGE, nor'easter.
It DID feel an awful lot like winter. Thank goodness, it's back to autumn, for now.
But let's take a look at some photos, below, of the weather from last weekend, reminiscent of the coming season-----winter!
Driving in the winter in New England is SO pleasant. NOT.
First of all, you have to find your car which is, more than likely, buried under snow, like this car.
Then you have to clean the mirrors before you can mosey out of the driveway.
You see a lot of this:
Your windshield wipers go ballistic as they try to clean the yuk off the windshield so you won't ram into a telephone pole.

Oh my goodness, is IS hard to drive when you are looking around at so much beauty, like in the photos below!

I just had a dream about not being able to find my car. Isn't that kind of funny?
And New England - it's bittersweet I guess you'd say. A great wealth of scenery but all that snow.
My favorite thing I like about winter is that I live in the south.

I like that our winters don't look anything like that. I only ever visited snow in Michigan every other Christmas when I was growing up until the age of 14. I lived in snow for a month in December of 1994 before coming to Kuwait and it wasn't so bad, but I know I would not want to do it long term or full time. We have another dark day here and I can see that there was a tiny little sprinkling at some point. We are travelling tomorrow morning. Hope it doesn't rain too much while we are away since we have leaks that appear every year. :/ Have a great weekend and a wonderful new week. Tammy
I was surprised to see we had some snow overnight giving us a good dusting.
I love the pristine beauty of winter and the coziness of a warm fire.

NOTHING, that is what I like about winter. Oh, I suppose the first snowfall, when the land is still and the pristine glow is all about, is pretty, but you can have the freezing cold and yucky mess. I must admit, the photo of the residential area with tire tracks through the middle of the street made me feel nostalgic, 1950's feel. My positive thinking reminds me that spring is four months away.
Oh, wow, you did get slammed early this year. We got hit too but not like you guys. Silly, but I still like the winter months and I love snow.
The scenes you share...I know they are a'comin! Nights here are 30 but days hit the 60's still. Today a last college football game...hubby's thing but I will enjoy one of the last afternoon-filled sunshine!
I love the look of Winter & the frost in the tress.. I love making the first footprints in the fresh fallen snow as we walk our two pups. I love sitting in front of a roaring fire and watching the snow fall out the window... I however hate driving in the winter months! I just we can't have everything. Drive safe!

It was a beautiful snowfall --- fluffy and moist and sticky --- making it all a winter wonderland. But oh, so early in the season. What a shock! I'm sure you are glad to be back to autumn weather again for awhile!
