Splendorous Flowers

Flowers, food for our souls, always uplift.

They fill our eyes with delight and our hearts with love.

When I came down to the kitchen on Mother's Day, hubs had a dozen of gorgeous white with deep pink edged roses waiting for me in a pink vase. What a guy!

Baby's breath tucked between the sweet roses brought out their beauty even more.

Then the doorbell rang!  I had no idea flower companies delivered their goods on a Sunday.

However, since it was a special holiday, they definitely did!

A worker handed me another truly lovely bouquet, filled with sunshiny yellow and other colored blooms.

It was tied with a perky green bow covered with white polka dots.

Anna, a dear and very special woman, who I have known for 37 years, honored me by sending the bouquet.

It even came with a box of Whitman's chocolates, wrapped in white tissue paper, and  nestled inside a white gift bag.

Her note, attached to the flowers, filled my eyes with tears and my heart with immense love.

Last, but not least, a bouquet of  star gazer lilies fills the house with incredible fragrance as it sits on a kitchen counter.

I added a sprig of mini carnations given to all mothers who had dinner on Mother's Day at Coyote Flaco!

It's a restaurant in Williamstown, Massachusetts, that specializes in food from Mexico and Spain.

Giving the blooms was an extra special gesture of kindness.

Not only are flowers food for the soul, they make life here on earth more precious, too!

Flowers are truly a gift of love.

My favorites are roses in any color. I always got two huge bouquets after each concert at school both at Christmas and Spring. I do miss those days now that I'm retired..ha. But I can be grateful that I got them for twenty six years in a row.

Oh my goodness what LOVELY flowers - and you have so many and so many that love you. Very nice. Very pretty. I don't get a lot of flowers, but my favorite are tulips - do you like tulips?

Sounds like you had a bloomin weekend! Such lovely flowers. Right now my deck flowers are going up and coming down as it storms and then clears. Now waiting on storms again after the wind has blown all day and some blossoms look pretty lame. Poor flower babies!

Stargazer lilies are one of my favorite flowers; the fragrance is especially wonderful. Roses, in any shade of pink or peach are also lovely. Babies breath does add a romantic flair to any bouquet.

Guess you had a very flower filled Mother's Day!

Susan, the bouquets you got for Mother's Day are lovely, but the ones that caught my eye the most were the carnations, as my husband used to give them to me when we were dating. I think you know what flowers are my favorite to receive as gifts.......ROSES. :) Love that green polka dot bow.

Your photos are beautiful. Love all the colors; I can almost smell the roses and stargazer lilies.
My favorite flowers are gardenias and roses, but lilies also have a special place in my hears.
Hubby picks up a bouquet of flowers every week when he grocery shops. Nothing fancy, but a lovely gesture from my sweetheart of 48 years and counting.
