He bought several lovely gifts and a big heart of candy, he cooked breakfast, heart shaped pancakes, took me out for dinner, baked a red velvet cake, wrote a poem in his card. I remember thinking it was such a wow that he went all out. I felt cherished and loved enough for the rest of my days. He became ill a few weeks later and died in the fall. I just treasure that day, one of the loveliest we had together.
