The Dolls in Red

The Guatemalan hutch in our dining room has a rotating series of decorations.

At Christmas time, every shelf was filled to the rafters with part of a wooden Santa collection.

All the Santas have been put to "sleep" til next Christmas.

In their place are dollies in red.

They are a small part of a huge doll collection.

They come down from the second floor doll room, leaving dozens of cousins behind, to become part of the Valentine's  Day decor.

Many of them wear velvet outfits with lots of lace and satin. Woo hoo!

This cutie patootie is only about four inches tall:

Dolls brought immense joy to me in childhood as they do in adulthood!

This little cutie pie in the cherry-sprinked dress came from California.

Once, when I was visiting my California sister, I saw her while shopping and  knew for certain she'd be flying home with me.

After the dolls in red dresses go back upstairs, it's anyone's guess what will fill the hutch next so stay tuned.

WHAT'S SOMETHING FROM YOUR CHILDHOOD THAT YOU STILL ENJOY?
