Polish Dolls Are Colorful and Detailed

Meet Marisha and Stanislaus, two attractive dolls straight from Krakow, Poland.

Actually, those names are made up.  Since the dolls are Polish from head to toe, I thought the names sounded suitable.  They are dressed in full, colorful regalia.

Found in a thrift store, they were utterly irresistible, since my maternal grandparents came from Poland.  Whenever my grandfather heard the Polish National anthem, tears spilled from his eyes.

The dolls, both blonde-haired, blue-eyed sweethearts, are wearing black leather books.

The little girl doll has red pearls, blue, gold, and red-beaded vest, white shirt, and red printed skirt.  She also has a white, lacy collar and matching skirt cover with heart shapes on it.

Even the slip beneath her skirt has lacy edging.

There are colored flowers in her hair which is neatly braided into pigtails, tied with red ribbons.  A red ribbon wraps around her waist.

The little boy doll wears red and white pin-striped pants and a white shirt.  His tunic sports gold sequins and red adornments.  He also wears a white belt.

Blue, green, pink, and yellow streamers fall from his hat.

The dolls are attached to a simple piece of wood. they've made a long trip to the USA from their native country.

When I look at the Polish dolls, my heart swells with love and pride. I wish I could show them to my Grandma who has gone to the other side of life.
