"Tea for Two" on Tea Cup Tuesday!

Today's tea cup looks just like another pretty but run-of-the-mill rose cup and saucer doesn't it?

Well, there's something very distinct about this little beauty. When picked up from the saucer, it plays "Tea for Two!"  There's a musical component built right into the bottom of the cup.

It came to me via Goodwill for $1.50!  When I got home,  the saucer dropped on the flagstone floor in our front entryway and smashed into numerous pieces.  However, using white glue and a ton of patience, I glued the saucer back together again.

On the back of the saucer, it says the cup is Queen Anne and made in England.

The saucer cannot really be used to serve tea to someone but high up on the tea cup shelf, no one will notice all the repairs.

It's such a kick that the tea cup plays music, making it so unique.

HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF A TEA CUP THAT PLAYS 'TEA FOR TWO?'

  5. Hi Susan: I love to see your smile when I come to your post. If I am feeling down at all, it makes me smile in my heart. You are precious to me. I just wanted to tell you that. Back to the cup, I have never seen a sing cup! How lucky are you to find that beauty? I am so sorry about the saucer. I love it, nothing plain about it. Blessings, Martha

  6. Hi Susan :) I don't think I've ever heard of a teacup that plays that tune; how lucky of you to find this sweet treasure. I love the pretty pink roses on this cup and saucer. It's too bad about the saucer breaking, but fortunately you were able to put it back together again. It's definitely a keeper :)

    Happy Teacup Tuesday!
    Warmest hugs, Brenda

  15. What a find. I'm so sorry to hear it broke, but it is still lovely. I have heard of a teapot that played "Tea for Two", and a mug that played "Your Are My Sunshine", but never a teacup. Lovely Take care.
