Signs of Valentine's Day Are All Over the Place

Oh boy, it's February and that means Valentine's Day is on its way.

Who doesn't adore a day set aside just to celebrate love?  Heaven knows more love is sorely needed in our world.

Little flourishes of Valentine's Day can be found all over this house. As soon as any Valentine cards come in the mail, up they go on the kitchen door.

On the front hall table, there's a Valentine's day tableau----red and white plates, a heart-studded placemat that holds a red candle surrounded by red berries,  an angel of love, and all kinds of other doodads. It's very festive!

Get this. About the only thing in the tableau that was purchased is the heart-covered placemat. The rest of the stuff, family members were throwing out! I scooped them up faster than a speeding bullet. The little angel was my Mom's and when she died, I couldn't bear to give her away. She will be one of my "forever" decorations. It's comforting to me to think that my Mom, herself, is now an angel!

This year, the traditional heart-shaped sugar cookies might bite the dust because when they are around, guess who likes to eat them? Guess who does not NEED sugar cookies?  mmm hmm

Oh, you are ready for a day of romance! How pretty the red hearts and angel are...looks so festive!

And thanks for writing on my blog this evening. But I must confess the flowers on the table are not real. I never wanted artifical flowers but there are some lovely silks anymore. Silk allows me to have "flowers" and to create a mood.

Very cold here again tonight...hope you are warm up there!

Oh we've been singing Valentine's songs in my primary and pre school classes already too. I even taught them a Valentine dance where the gals dance with the guys...very cute. I love Valentine's day.

A few touches on the door mainly, but nothing out of my way. I've been meaning to do something special to hang, but haven't managed to get the time to do so. Probably over this weekend? Hopefully!
Lovely red and white decorations Susan!
have a great day!

Lovely Valentine decorations. I think you need to put some Valentine chocolates in that pretty little red and white dish!! :) Mmm sugar cookies -- last year I made heart shaped ones and with pink icing. Yum! I collect angels, or I did - I stopped, and only kept some of them. Yours is very special! Best wishes, Tammy
