Tea Cup Tuesday: The Yellow Rose of Tea Cup!

Today's tea cup is covered with luscious yellow roses that are so real looking, one can almost smell their sweet fragrance, along with deep purple violets.

It was on a clearance rack at Home Goods. When I saw it, my heart started skipping a few beats. I held it in my hands, oooed and ahhhed, put it back on the shelf, picked it up again, and then deposited it into my shopping cart.

If my husband saw it, and questioned me on the lack of need to buy another tea cup, I had my defense all ready. This is what I was going to say:

"It's Martha and Terri's fault. They hold this Tea Cup Tuesday party  in blogland and I ran out of tea cups to show my dear fellow bloggers. So if I want to participate, I have to buy more cups and this is one of them."

Luckily, I was able to unwrap the cup  and plop it into the dishpan in the kitchen sink before my husband came in.  When it got washed with all the rest of the dishes at supper, my darling husband never knew the difference.  I didn't have to feel guilty and he didn't have to complain so it worked out for both of us.   :)

Can you imagine sipping a cup of fragrant tea in this cup next to a bouquet of these?:

The cup was made in China:

Don't miss the other gorgeous cups shown for this weekly party. Just go visit Martha, from Martha's Favorites, and Terri from Artful Affirmations. These dear ladies sponsor Tea Cup Tuesday.  Trust me, it's a blast!

Oh my!..,What an exceptionally lovely yellow rose teacup!..,

My dear mother and dearly departed, beloved late father, used to collect all manner of lovely yellow rose motif teacups and dishware.

~ This was for them, as a sweet reminder of the fact that the yellow rose comprised my mother's wedding bouquet and was also their main wedding flower..,

In all my years, I do not think we have found a single, yellow rose teacup as ravishing as yours!.., Though it brings 'a tear to my eye', I thank you for sharing this loveliness with all of us for 'Teacup Tuesday'!

I want to also warmly invite you to visit my little corner of what I have come to lovelingly refer to as; 'Tuesday Tea Time In Blogland' for my 74th, 'Tuesday Tea For Two', weekly blog tea party.

..,My dear friend and I also share a similar meme, (as a means of keeping in touch, despite the far distance beteen where we both live); with our, 'Teapot And Tea Things Tuesday' blog party..,

Have a marvelous week and St.Paddy's day!

Cheers and hugs from Wanda Lee

Hi Susan: Love the cup! But the story, that's the best. I did that all the time for years. "I have always had it, you just never notice anything". Worked perfect. Your blog gave me a smile today. Love you lots, Martha

Sure, sure don't take responsiblity for your shopping and blame it on someone else - teehee - way to go to get it in before he saw. I am just kidding you - he would let you buy a 100.

It was exquisite - I like the yellow rose and the way you had a picture of yellow roses.

Very nice today.

Susan, you are so lucky to find this beautiful tea cup and saucer! What beautiful yellow roses on it. The ring handle and pedestal base make it so elegant looking too. Thank you so much for sharing it with us today for T.T.!

What a lovely tea cup! It certainly would have come home with me too!
As for the hubby thing, Mine learned a very long time ago NEVER to ask me why I am buying or bought something. If he does forget, all I say is " and your point is WHAT?"
Making way more money than your hubby does have it's advantages!! LOL!!

Hugs,
Debbie
