The new "Thin Threads" book was compiled by Stacey Battat, who founded Kiwi Publishing with her husband, Eitan, and Mary Jones, of ww.talkofconnecticut.com. They said the new edition will remind readers "why we love our women friendships."
Everyone has a special friend at some point in life, right?
There are acquaintances----most people have many of those---but a special friend is much more. He or she comes into one's life and makes a really huge impact.
I have a friend like that who is dear to my heart. She has been there for me in good times and in bad. She is faithful, kind, generous, loving, and optimistic. Her name is Delores. I moved far away from her nine years ago but it didn't put a dent in our friendship. Instead, it just kept us from seeing each other as much.
When I read that Kiwi Publishing Company was working on a book that was to be titled "Thin Threads of Women and Friendship," I immediately sat down at the desk in my home office and wrote a story about Delores and then submitted it to Kiwi Publishing.
Naturally, I was thrilled when Stacey sent an email telling me my story had been accepted for publication. It's always very competitive to get into a book like this so I truly thanked my lucky stars for the story on my friend being accepted.
Delores' birthday is coming up so guess what I sent her? Yep, her own copy of "Thin Threads of Women and Friendship." I wrapped it up in shiny gold paper, tucked in a hand-painted bookmark purchased from a New England artist, and sent all in a manila envelope, along with a birthday card. I know she'll love the book.
By the way, if anyone is interested in buying some of the Thin Thread books, here's a link to Kiwi's website.
It is joyful to share with you that I had another story published in "Thin Threads of Faith and Hope."
It's pretty exciting to have stories published and wonderful to be able to share part of one's heart with the world!
ARE YOU FAMILIAR WITH KIWI PUBLISHING'S 'THIN THREADS' BOOKS?

That is so awesome, Susan! I don't think I knew about the 2nd acceptance, did I? I still have to buy one...and now I'll probably buy both!!
Congrats! That is a huge accomplishment!

Congratulations Susan. I am so happy for you. nothing compares to a best friend.
Congrats, Susan! Always fun to write but even better to get that great feeling that comes from being published too!
Congrats Susan! That is wonderful and what a great gift for your friend! I will have to check the book out!
Hi Susan,
I am not surprised at all. You are gifted and are magical with your words.

Honestly I hadn't heard of it.
But way to go Susan - how wonderful. Not only to get published - but to have a friend as dear as that!
Congratulations, Susan. Sounds like a wonderful book. Acquaintances come and go, friends are few and forever even if just in the heart. I've learned that if you can say you've had one true friend in life, you are very blessed indeed. I put a lot of value in the word. Seems to be tossed around so carelessly these days.
Thanks for stopping by. Glad the mourning doves blessed you. ;)
