Today we are joining Dayle's Simple Pleasures of Summer weekly party from A Collection of This and That.
In childhood, fireworks displays always filled me with excitement. Around the Fourth of July, the town we lived in always promised a nice display of firepower in the night sky. My father would let us sit on the roof of my playhouse that was attached to our garage.
The fireworks took place at a ball park quite a distance from our house but up on our rooftop perch, we were able to see the entire show as if it were on a black movie screen.
Spirals of green; star bursts of red, white and blue; double bursts of pink and yellow; and lots of white boomers in between; all of these made a very exciting evening.
Even now, as an adult, seeing fireworks still fills me with awe. Wherever a display takes place, it's impossible for me to keep from ooing and ahing, exclaiming how glorious each explosion is. The little kid in me comes out and claps her hands in sheer joy. She yells a lot, too!
The photos shown today were taken especially for this blog, this past weekend. Hope you enjoy my night sky photographic efforts!
Now, here's the grand finale!
WHERE DID THE BEST FIREWORKS DISPLAY YOU EVER SAW TAKE PLACE?

Wow, you caught some great shots.
Your photos are wonderful,
I think fireworks bring out the child in us.

In Missouri! They have the best shows there. Here in AZ they have pretty limited shows. :( We didn't even get to see any this year. It was to cloudy. We could hear them but not see them. :(

Thank you for sharing your great pictures!
I was in Washington D.C. in 1976, so that was probably the best fireworks display I have seen in person, but I enjoy all of the big displays, and then I enjoy just doing sparklers, too!
Hi Susan,
Fantastic pictures!
Great for me since we did not see any fireworks this year.
I cannot remember the place I saw the best fireworks, I just remember the finale going on and on and on!
*hugs*

Wow! Lovely shots.
The best fireworks display I ever saw was on the banks of the Mississippi River in St. Louis, just under the Gateway Arch.

Wow! Great photos Susan! the best firewrks I have seen was at the "Freedom Festival" which happens on the Detroit River and is a dual city celebration. Detroit and Windsor celebrate together.
Susan you really did get some beautiful photos of the fireworks! I saw a few at a party and enjoyed them. hugs, Linda
Nothing compares with over the lake as a child. Love the photo's!
Oh, how I love the colors - don't care for the booms! Natchitoches, LA is the BEST! The fireworks are shot on the banks of Cane River, in the month of December. This is the town where Steel Magnolias was filmed. Joining you at Dayle's.
These are great shots and me too....love watching fireworks explode in lights and color against the night sky
I do not have a favorite spot for fireworks...anywhere, anytime is great for me. This year I saw them at Verizon wireless theater with music played by the symphony in the backround...awesome! I like your pictures Susan!
You got some great shots and right over your house - lucky you. Ours were canceled.
The best I've ever seen were the ones we saw in Cincinnati off one of the bridges. And of course Disney's. Stone Mountain. And Lenox Square.
That's one heck of a show! My favorite fireworks show was in Corpur Christi. We were sitting on the docks (bay side) and had a front-row seat, basically. Amazing.
