This week's simple summertime pleasure is an overhead Casa Blanca fan.
Having one in the bedroom is pure delight.
In past years, we ran a window air-conditioner but the racket it made really bothered me and disturbed my sleep.
Now, every bedroom window in the house has its own ceiling fan, thanks to hubs. He's a keeper, that's for sure.
Now, on summer nights, the Casa Blanca fan whirls around and results in sweet slumber.

Were they in the movie Casa Blanca. Casa is house. Blanca is white.
I love fans in addition to a/c.

What a lovely bedroom! We sure were happy to have an overhead fan while at safari in Chitwan. No a/c and it was hot and humid. Plus, it helped drone out the sound of all the night creatures. :) Have a great day. Tammy

My dad installed a ceiling fan in our bedroom the year we moved into the house 26 years ago. It was probably a very inexpensive one. It runs non-stop from May-Oct every single year and is still working. I am amazed! It really does help cool the room. We run fans on the second floor of our house even with the air conditioner on as it is always so much warmer up stairs.
I got a better ceiling fan in my bedroom this summer and wow what a difference it makes. They makes such a difference in comfort when I sleep.
Fans are certainly welcome in this heat!

Thank God for fans! I have one in our bedroom also... I use it every night.... even if the windows are open. Also have one in the living room.... I would love to put one in the guestroom and kitchen somday too.

I love a ceiling fan in summertime. We don't sleep with the one on that is over the bed, but we do sleep with a fan on. Can't hardly sleep without that sweet sound.
I love the fresh air and will have a fan any day over air conditioning. we only use it if necessary.
Oh yes, this is really the best pleasure in my house...

I love ceiling fans. When I've stayed at my sister's house in Arkansas I've really appreciated lying in bed underneath a fan and feeling the cool air. Sadly we don't need them here in England.
