Support Your Local Farmers Market

(The Farmers Market at the Berkshire Mall in Lanesboro, Massachusetts,
is the place where all the photos in this post were taken.)

Today, Saturday, farmers markets will be held all over the good ol' USA.

If you have never attended one, don't deny yourself another second.

You can find the freshest, best quality and totally delicious veggies and more at farmers markets.

There are usually fresh eggs, too!

I love it when I read signs, say, for corn on the cob.  "Picked fresh this morning."

No cross country trailer truck journeys.

No imports from outside the USA.

Just fresh produce grown by local farmers.

Most markets have delicious baked goods, too, including breads, cookies, pies and more.

If Americans fail to support local farmers, they could eventually stop farming and then everyone loses.

Support your local farmers.

Buy fresh, organic eggs.

Go the the farmers markets.

Smell the herbs.

Try something new.

Buy flowers.

Stock up on fruits and veggies.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF GOING TO FARMERS MARKETS?

Everything looks so wonderful!

When I'm at Farmer's Markets, I like to buy cherries, cheese and artisan breads.

I live in a small town of 400 people in Missouri, but we are lucky to have a farmers market here every day in the season. Nothing better. Thanks for stopping by. Send a question, Richard from My Old Historic House.

All I can say--Here, Here!! I agree with you totally. Farmers are the backbone of our country; working hard to produce the food we eat. I saw how much work at my grandparent's farm, but loved every minute of it. XOXO

I love the vegetables and honey at our farmers market. I grow my own tomatoes but I also like the melons and fruit. I've not seen eggs at ours.

There's nothing like the freshness from a farmer's market.

Hi Susan -

LOL! Mom and I were at the Farmer's Market today. Whew, those eggs were expensive. Our Farmer's Market has the same eggs for $2.50/dozen.

Blessings,
Susan :)

Your photos are beautiful! The post reminded me of visiting the farmers market in my area, with my mom, several years ago! :-) You have a beautiful blog. I'm glad I stopped by. May the Lord bless you!

I haven't been to one in years but after looking at these photos I'll have to inquire where the nearest one is.
