Going to a restaurant I've never been to before peaks my sense of adventure and curiosity.
Recently, one of my sisters and I took a chance and drove to Sullivan Station in Western Massachusetts.
It's located in a building that once served as the Lee Railroad Station.
I pictured people with top hats, long dresses and luggage waiting to hear the whistle of the train.
Neither of us were real familiar with the restaurant's offerings but we were glad we went.
The food was delicious. (The service was on the slow side even though it wasn't a full house.)
Flowers in little vases on the tables were real.
The bread served was fresh.
My dinner of chicken with hollandaise sauce, asparagus, provolone cheese, and topped with lobster newburg that had big chunks of lobster in it, was truly top notch.
There was even a barred window with the word "TICKETS" at the top. So darned cute!
WHAT WAS THE LAST UNIQUE PLACE YOU DINED IN?

this looks like the cozy places I like...ones with history! That food looks very good too...it was worth the wait I know!
Hello from Spain: this restaurant in a former train station is very nice and original. The most unusual place I went to dinner was at a restaurant on the beach. A very romantic dinner with my husband. Keep in touch
That's exactly what I picture in my mind too. The food sounds and looks great!

My frank and I love these kind of restaurants....you are fortunate to live in such a historical area.
Oh. my. goodness. I just ate dinner, but if someone put what you had for dinner in front of me, I'd still eat it. I think the last cool place I ate in was somewhere in Charleston, SC. SO happy you had fun with your friend! HUGS! ~me
Looks wonderful. My favorite place to eat is the Beaumont Inn in Harrodsburg, Kentucky. It was once a girl's school. xo Laura
I would have to say the most historical place as well as unique was Wayside Inn in Sudbury MA. It is the oldest inn in the US. Your meal looked delicious.
Oh what fun. I dined at the Old Spaghetti Factory where bed head and foot boards serve as booth backs. A fun place in a historic riverfront building in St. Louis. That food looks delicious.

Wish I could have gone there with you! Looks delish. sandie
