Sweet Autumn Treat

Once a year, in the fall, one can find one of the tastiest ice cream flavors around------pumpkin.

It's light and creamy with a hint of pumpkin pie spice.

It's yummy.

Last weekend at the Wilmington, Vermont , Antiques and Flea Market, hubs bought two kiddie sized cones with pumpkin ice cream on top.

The young man scooping the Vermont made confection graciously agreed to be photographed for this blog.

There's no doubt about it.   Pumpkin ice cream is one of the best part of fall!

It'll be gone from freezer shelves in a couple of short weeks and it's a good thing, too.  ha!

HAVE YOU EVER HAD PUMPKIN ICE CREAM?  IF NOT, WOULD YOU LIKE TO TRY IT?

I'm not a fan of pumpkin anything so wouldn't want to try this confection. I do not even like pumpkin pie. I do love anything with apples though...

We have a famous ice cream store in town with walk up windows. It serves soft custard (vanilla ice cream made with honey)made so thick (yet soft) they call it concrete, because you can turn the cup upside down and it will not spill. They mix every flavor and concoction imaginable. I recently had my fall fix: pumpkincrete, an entire slice of pumpkin pie blended with the frozen custard, topped with a generous dollop of whipped cream. This weekend, I think I will have the Big Apple which is a slice of apple crumb pie blended in. Ummm you can tase the crumbs and the crust and bite into an apple. What a delight!

Hi Susan! You know, I just don't think I'd want to try this ice cream. Vegetables in ice cream? It just doesn't compute in my poor head.

Now this comes from a person who doesn't like fruit in pie either, so consider the source!
You made it took like fun, and a real treat too :)

Never have had pumpkin ice cream; should try it as I do like the pumpkin flavor. Your cone looked so yummy; a nice treat on a warm fall day. October has been such a warm month here; warmer than usual.

My husband and I did share a pumpkin harvest ale as we watched the sun set over the water; a moment to cherish.

Enjoy the second half of October!
