Strike One! Bowling Ball Smiley Face Cracks People Up

The world can always use more smiles and laughter, don't you think
think?

With that in mind, a bowling ball made into a smiley face caught my attention.

I first saw it on Pinterest (my newest, rather fierce addiction. ha haha).

So off to Goodwill I went and found two bowling balls.

One project completed can be found here:  http://writingstraightfromtheheart.blogspot.com/2014/05/bowling-ball-art.html

Ol' smiley face came to be within the past couple of days.

Painted the ball a brilliant shade of yellow with tractor paint.

That should hold up pretty well in rain.

After letting it dry well, the ball had to be turned over to paint the rest of it.

Then, with a pen, I drew on the eyes and mouth, using a little sticker as a model.

Then I filled everything in with shiny black enamel paint.

Tah dah!  Ol' smiley face is now situated at the bottom of the bird feeders in the backyard.

It's true that every time I look out there and see it, it cracks me up.

So far, it has had the same effect on visitors!

STRIKE ONE!

  11. So cheerful!

We use tractor paint around here too. It holds up SO well! My husband is the applicator and I think he uses the spray kind.
