Simple Yet Majestic Glads

Gladiolus are among the most regal and elegant flowers.

Yes, the plural of "gladiola" is "gladiolus."  Right?  Wrong.

Some references call the singular flower "gladiolus" and state that the plural is "gladioli."

In any event, glads have gorgeous blooms.

They are really beautiful.

Our daughter and son-in-law, on a visit, brought us two tall purple and one pink glad from their own garden.

I put the flowers in a cut glass decanter and placed it in the middle of the kitchen table.

Soooooo lovely!

Just feast your eyes on such beauty.

Okay, admittedly, I went a little nutso with the camera but they were so gorgeous, I just couldn't stop clicking that lens.

DO YOU GROW GLADIOLUS?

My dad had gladiolus planted when I was growing up. So, so lovely! I must plant some here next season!

I love glads. They remind me of times in my grandparent's florist when I was a child. Beautiful photos, my friend. xo Laura

I don't grow gladiolas but do treat myself to a nice bouquet of them at this time of year. The farmer's markets all have them for sale in so many colors. They are such regal flower. They seem to epitomize the lushness and bounty of the growing season here in New =England.

Your photos captured yours beautifully.

Susan,
These flower pictures are great. That first one is truly beautiful. I'm not too familiar with this flower, but it's very pretty.

You mentioned that you wanted to see a pic of me, and just wanted to tell you that I have a couple on my anniversary post today if you want to stop by. I was very young, and it was right before my wedding. I look the same, just a bit older haha.

love,
~Sheri
