Somewhere, Over the Rainbow

Wednesday was a mixed bag.

We had an appointment in Boston and driving there was a nightmare.

Thank God my daughter was driving as the monster trailer trucks competed for space on the turnpike and visibility was horrible due to extremely blinding rain.

At times there was extremely heavy fog, too. It was no fun driving through thick pea soup.

The trailer trucks wig me out so much I don't drive to Boston at all anymore.

The result of  the appointment was fabulous and that, in itself, made the trip worthwhile.

However, with all the stress from driving high speed in torrential rain, I was pretty well zonked by the time we got home.

After dropping hubs off, I still had to go out and pick up a few groceries.

When I was leaving the super, guess what I saw?

It was a very beautiful rainbow at dusk!

It was almost like a special gift at the end of a super harried day and it made me smile.

I really felt like belting out a rendition of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" right there in the supermarket parking lot but didn't want people to think I was crazy.

Instead, I ran to my purse in the car, grabbed my little camera and snapped a few shots  for you!

WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU SAW A RAINBOW AND HOW  DID IT MAKE YOU FEEL?

I have seen quite a few rainbows where I live during the winter months but not in the summertime. I would have sung "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" no matter who heard me..

Beautiful rainbow, Susan. I saw two together about 2 weeks ago and I'm always reminded of God's promises :) Enjoy your day!

It is always amazing to see a rainbow! Driving under the conditions you describe would be nerve-wracking to me as well!

What a beautiful end to such a stressful day. I cannot take Rt. 81 anymore because of all the trucks, it stresses me out too much, every week there is an accident there. My camera is definitely not good at snapping rainbows, it struggles, and they are always much dimmer in the lens, yours is bright and beautiful!

How wonderful to see a rainbow after such a tiring and stressful day. Glad the appt. turned out well.

Don't remember the last time I saw a rainbow; they are always such a fleeting but joyful occurance.

Susan, I don't know if I mentioned this to you, but I believe that when we see a rainbow it is a gift. I see them once in awhile, and it is such an incredible sight when I do. I feel very blessed and thankful, and a feeling of peace comes over me and makes me very happy. Your rainbow pictures are beautiful. Thank you for the gift today.

love,
~Sheri
