He often wrote about rural scenes in New England, even though he was originally from California.
He painted lovely images with his words such as in the poem, "Stopping by the Woods on a Snowy Evening."
Can you imagine how exciting it was to look for and then find his gravestone in the First Congregational Church Cemetery in Bennington, Vermont?
We actually did that this past fall. It was a lovely excursion.
Following signs, one walks down a long pathway and then turns right before spotting the tombstone which rises up from the ground.
There were a lot of pennies on it, indicating visits from dozens of other admirers.
His wife and some of their children are also buried there.
May his gentle soul forever rest in peace.
DO YOU LIKE TO VISIT OLD GRAVEYARDS? IF YES, WHY?

It is very interesting to view graveyards especially those that are very old. I like to read the ages of the people that died and sometimes there are great epitaphs written on them. Loved walking in this one in Vermont with the fall leaves all around!
Been to his house in New Hampshire but not to this grave. It would be a special spot to visit. Glad you saw if "for me".
I would have liked to see his - what a beautiful stone - gee some of his children lived a long time and some just a day. I learn something new every day.
Hi Susan,
I certainly like his writings. But living here in Canada, I don't suppose I will ever get to his grave site. I used to enjoy going to a cemetery as you always learn something interesting. I haven't done that in a long time. It's nice to have you visit Christmas Pudding and have a lovely Christmas, Susan.
Blessings,
Sandi
The cemeteries in Cades Cove in the Smoky Mountains are very old. I took the Girl Scouts there when we were working on a Heritage badge, I think.
Robert Frost is a favorite of mine!
I wonder if he ever thought his writing would be remembered for so many years?
Hello from Spain: I do not like to visit old graveyards because it is very sad for me. Keep in touch
