Elegant Iris

During my childhood, my father grew irises in a small garden in our side yard.

They were pale lavender and their fragrance was delicate and beautiful.

Hubs brought home a stem with irises that are deep purple.

Their blooms are almost frilly----quite exquisite.

I just love looking at them. They are in a vase on the kitchen table.

Aren't they just sumptuous?

WHAT COLOR IRISES DO YOU LIKE BEST?

  1. I too love the deep purple but the lighter shade of purple is pretty also. My old house had some growing in the yard and I always loved when they would bloom!

  5. Susan, I saw your purple iris on my side bar, and had to come over and take a look. It's so pretty, and I think you know how much I love Purple. So nice of your husband to bring you home some irises.

Have a peaceful Sunday, my dear.

  8. They grew wild along the back fence in a house we lived in when the kids were small. We called them flags.
