Don't you absolutely love touches of whimsy in the garden?
For example, this sweet little birdie with the flamboyant tail, pictured in today's post, makes both adults and children smile.
The birdie stands in a new Children's Garden at Arrowhead, the home of the late New England author, Herman Melville, in Western Massachusetts.
Isn't a garden designed just for children a wonderful idea?
There's a hopscotch path, a branch tepee and tunnels where beans and other plants are growing.
HAVE YOU EVER PLANTED A CHILDREN'S GARDEN? IF NOT, WOULD YOU LIKE TO?
I have a teeny tiny bird just like the big bird you show pictured! Unique idea.but no, there are no children's gardens planned for my futute. A fort or two perhaps...
ReplyDeleteWouldn't that be fun!!
ReplyDeleteMy elementary school has a wonderful children's garden for all ages. The Kindergarten children actually eat the things they plant such as lettuce, tomatoes, strawberries and so forth. It is a great science experiment for them. The older children also learn about gardening and how to take care of the earth. Wonderful idea!
