Be a Light in the World

Have you ever walked in a dark room and stubbed your toe?

It's not fun.

During a thunderstorm, have you ever lost electrical power and had to fish around in a dark drawer with your hand in a frantic attempt to find a book of matches?

In both of those situations, a hand-held flashlight is a godsend.

Once matches are discovered, even one tiny flame brings welcome light.

Today, why not be  light in the world?

Think what a kindness that could be to someone steeped in emotional darkness.

A warm smile, an understanding word, and unasked-for kindnesses are all ways to bring "light" to others.

Rather than whine and complain or find fault today, just smile and let your Christ light shine for all!

If you can do that, you, too, will be steeped in light!

HOW CAN YOU BE A LIGHT IN THE WORLD ON THIS DAY?

Hello from Spain: we can be a light if we help the people who need it. Nice photos. Happy Holidays.

You are a LIGHT in the world, Susan!
Here is has rained hard and nonstop since yesterday morning. Unbelievable rain. I wanted to take down the tree but we have decided to leave it up a few more days for the light it gives us as the days are SO dark.

Such a lovely post for us all to think about, Susan. We had heavy rain one day, and there was a power shortage, and everything was dark for awhile. Luckily, it was during the day, so there was some light. I didn't mind though, as we needed the rain so much.

Thank you for being a light in my world, Susan, shining on those dreary days.

love, ~Sheri

And if everyone lit just one little candle what a bright world this would be etc.

Amen ! Kindness is a true gift , and it costs nothing to give but maybe a moment of time, a kind word, a smile...
