Don Quixote Sculpture in Western Massachusetts

A towering, totally impressive sculpture of Don Quixote (don key-hoe-tay) rests silently in a naturally beautiful and woodsy
area in western Massachusetts called Turn Park Art Space.

 Quixote in profile:

It is the work of  Nikolai Silis.

Quixote was a character in Miguel de Cervantes famous book, "Man of La Mancha,"  written in the 1600s!

Quixote was a  dreamer and idealist who saw the world quite different from the way it really was.

In the sculpture, he is holding a simple flower.

Seeing it is a lovely pause on a summer's afternoon.

ARE YOU FAMILIAR WITH DON QUIXOTE? WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE LIKE HIM OR NOT?

  3. I've heard of Don Quixote, but I'm not really familiar with his character. This is a delightful statue of him at the park.

    Have a lovely weekend, Susan.
