Unwrap Some Smiles

Preparing for the upcoming holidays brings all kinds of anticipation, excitement, happiness, and....... stress.

Yes, stress often rears its ugly head at this time of year.

Money is being spent like a waterfall, there are not enough hours in the day to work, keep the house clean, get presents bought and wrapped, bake and decorate, write out, address, and stamp Christmas cards, tend to kids and grandkids, and on and on.

With all that in mind, it's important to take extra good care of one's self.

Eat balanced meals (or at least chug a few protein drinks), try to exercise, even if it's just a little, and repeatedly breathe deeply to relax.

Try really hard to get a good night's sleep.

Because of the stresses that come with preparing for Christmas, I like to find decorations that make people, including myself, smile.

Many of the decorations shown in photos in this post bring smiles and touches of joy.

We all need more laughter and smiles in our lives, especially at this time of year.

WHAT WAS THE LAST THING THAT MADE YOU LAUGH IN A PROFOUND WAY? CAN YOU SHARE IT?

When you have pets, I find they make me laugh ( not just smile) everyday! Just watching them and how they relate to each other - a black lab and a grey tabby cat that isn’t allowed outside. They give me great joy!

Your words are spot on...there is a lot of stress during the Christmas season and we are the ones that usually creates the stress. I Love the Santa cups!! I think I would have to laugh at myself shopping in the rain yesterday...

Cute Susan. The pictures are all cute. Last laugh was seeing my daughter's cat eat a hole in the roof of his new "house" she made for him out of cardboard. That cat is hilarious.

The last thing that made me laugh was watching the comedy classic movie "White Chicks" no one makes really funny movies anymore, too afraid of offending someone. I don't sweat the holidays, I figure at least I'm not homeless or being bombed into oblivion in Gaza and Lebanon, so I'm pretty comfortable in that regard.
