Nobody escapes that.
The Fourth of July weekend turned out to be a nice break from stress with a beautiful and spirited parade.
There was also a lovely birthday party for a "firecracker baby" sister whose birthday just happens to fall on July 4th.
Some challenging situations, such as car breakdowns and questions about bills, have re-surged and it takes grace and patience to deal with them.
It's my custom to deal with problems for awhile but then take little breaks from them.
Going through a plastic storage tote turned out to be another de-stress er.
A pair of gold-toned birds, among my very favorite decorations, had been put away last winter.Unfortunately, I couldn't remember where I put them.
They were given to me by a very dear "forever" friend, Jana, who lives in Georgia. She always finds exquisite presents.
Stress of the day lifted like a fluffy white cloud when I reached into a tote and found the birds!
They have now been placed on a little buffet in the apartment living room and make me happy every time I glance in their direction.
HOW DO YOU HANDLE STRESSFUL SITUATIONS IN LIFE?
Through prayer and patience. That is how I handle stress. I try not to worry as that only makes one sick. I take one day at a time and thank God for my blessings.
ReplyDeleteEating anything dark chocolate preferably ice cream, is a go-to stress reliever. Also taking a look and the news especially from foreign English language news sites, that reports on the death and destruction from wars in Gaza, Ukraine is a grim reminder of how normal life is in places not touched by war and famine. However bad things seem, there's always someone worse off than me.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful blessing and sent at just the perfect time. God always shows up on time doesn't he. I love nature and it truly helps for me to walk when I feel stressed... Your doves are lovely and I'm glad you came across them.
ReplyDeleteOh, I remember those gold birds. They are the prettiest things. I'm glad you found them in the storage bins. Yes, I know what you mean about things surfacing when we least expect them to. My dryer has not been running well, but other times it dries the clothes fully, can't figure it out. Will have to look into it soon. But, your words about taking a break for a while from problems that arise sounds like good advice.
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed week, dear Susan.
