The Leaves Are Beginning to Change Color

Trees in western Massachusetts are beginning to show telltale signs of color change.

While temps sometimes seem still locked into summer, observing tinges of orange or red on the leaves of trees are sure signs that autumn is on its way.

This is a favorite season for many people, including me.

When the entire countryside is enveloped in cranberry, crimson. orange, and yellow, it is truly a sight to see.

Once a person has seen it, there is nothing to compare to autumn in New England.

There is a bittersweetness to the golden days though, because chilly days for sure are ahead.

But for now, it's important to immerse one's self in the intense beauty and splendor of every single day, in every single color-soaked leaf that flutters down from above.

After all, right now, this minute, is all any of us really have.

  1. YAY My favorite season in New England is fall. I love the changing colors, the chilly temps and the apples for picking and pumpkins for decorating on Halloween. Enjoy all the wonderful sights.

  2. I so love the colors of Fall. I haven't seen that drastic of a change in the season yet, but driving up the mountain yesterday, I did see some trees with orange color starting to show. Pretty photos, Susan, and Yes, I've heard of New England's Autumn beauty.

  3. Your autumn photos are lovely, Susan. We've got lots of leaves on the ground around here already. We haven't had frost yet, and the daytime is still quite summery in feeling. But the nights draw in sooner and the sunshine slants a little sideways and we are reminded that yes, the season has indeed shifted.
