Halloween decor is down, packed, and ready to be stored until next year.
Many people now get ready to decorate for the Thanksgiving holiday.
Because there are almost no decorations around here for the day of thanks, it's not unheard of to begin little by little to take out Christmas decor.
It's always exciting to open plastic containers, reach in, unwrap, and see, once again, familiar decorations from past years.
Christmas is an absolutely favorite holiday.
Soon we will also be getting out the Christmas dishes given to me by Patti, a dear friend from high school days.
She died way too soon in life and I still miss her a lot.
Decorating early helps stretch the season of beauty, grace, and loveliness as long as possible.
DO YOU USE THE SAME CHRISTMAS DECOR YEAR AFTER YEAR? DO YOU ADD NEW ITEMS AS WELL?

I am decorating for Christmas this morning Susan! It will be able to enjoy it all for a couple months. The dishes from your high school friend, Patti, are so pretty. Love the red design on the edges. And your snow babies make me smile every time. Have fun decorating little by little. Yes, I still have much of the traditional Christmas decor from years past, but I do like to get a few new things to add to the fun of decorating. I gave some ornaments away that I didn't really want any more. Your gingerbread house is sweet. Can't wait to see more!

I am not ready to put Christmas things out till after Thanksgiving. Enjoy the early decorations you put out. Love the dishes and I know your doll house will be spectacular !
I'm not quite ready to put out Christmas decor, but I am thinking about twinkle lights and creating cozy nooks as the days grow shorter... and darker. Those Christmas dishes, Susan, from your friend are beautiful. You must have such joy (maybe some poignancy too) in using them, and remembering your dear old friend.
Wishing you a beautiful weekend!
The only new stuff I get are Christmas cactus and poinsettias, although I am big on cookies and candy. Excessive decor detracts from the essence of the holiday, and just enriches predatory corporations like Amazon.
