Holiday Touches Create a Happy Place to Be

One thing is for sure, pertaining to the holidays.

Usually, the best place to be is in our own homes, condos, or apartments, at least that's how it is for me.

From Thanksgiving through New Year's, I have no desire to travel anywhere.

A cozy apartment, surrounded by holiday items collected over the course of a lifetime, is my happy place.

My main color of choice in decorating is pink and that is year-round.

This year, beautiful faux pink poinsettias in a chrystal/cut glass vase take center stage on the kitchen counter top.

It's still wonderful to visit family and friends who are nearby.

But by evening, the best place to be is blessedly the place we call "home."

Touches of Thanksgiving and Christmas are all over the place now.

It is challening to avoid looking cluttered with very little space,  almost no storage, and still too many decorations.

Dozens have already been given away.

But I'll do my best to make it work.

HOW ABOUT YOU? HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH LACK OF SPACE?

I totally agree, Susan. I love being home at Christmastime, and it's my happy place too. Your pink poinsettias are so lovely in the crystal vase. I see you put out your trumpet angel for Christmas, she's such a dear item. I saw one just like it at the Home Shop in town and thought of you. I was going to get it, but my main colors at Christmas are silver, white, and red. Your home looks so nice all decked out for Christmas. I love seeing all your special treasures.

I still live in my house so space is not a problem. I would just love to have a guardian angel help me put outside lights on and my tree up. Ha ha

So what I do with space is, Tim (hubby), and I share an office/studio space. And for the photography stuff that I don't already have in easy-to-see bins, I have pegboards up. Pegboards in the studio and for years now, five pegboards in the kitchen. I like using vertical space.
