A very small gold colored cross, about four inches tall, with several tiny red stones sits on a counter in my small apartment kitchen.
It came from Turkey and is a beautiful remembrance of a trip that included a part of that country.
A house where the Blessed Mother of Ephesus supposedly actually lived, after the death of her son, is visited by thousands of people every year.
It is like a national shrine. A gift shop on the grounds is where the little golden cross was purchased.
It is one souvenir I hope will be with me for the rest of life on earth.
May your Sunday be very blessed.
For those in areas where the weather is bad, please be safe and keep warm.

A very special piece in your home Susan. It's nice to have the comfort and peace as well as the memories of where this purchase was made. We do have ice...no snow, but at least we are having a taste of Winter...
ReplyDeleteThat's beautiful and special.
ReplyDeleteWe're good out here in California. Sunshine, moderate temperatures. Thinking of all those out there in the midst of this winter storm.
Susan, this is very beautiful and special. It would be so wonderful to have something that came from the place where Mary lived. What a special memory that must be for you visiting there. The gold Cross with the red diamonds is lovely. I have a Mary statue that came from Bethlehem, where Jesus was born, that is also very special to me. I'm Ok here with the weather, and more snow will come in February. Have a pleasant weekend, Susan.
ReplyDeleteOh I have that same cross thanks to you. Love it. Today my friend is coming for lunch. Looking forward to seeing her.
ReplyDeleteI love my little gold cross. It is a nice remembrance of the blessed mother’s home.
