Instant Warm-Up in Winter

So far, this has been a very hard winter, especially when temps dip into the single digits.

One way of giving the small apartment an instant warm-up is to bake something good in the oven.

Yesterday, it was oatmeal/raisin cookies and pumpkin breads.

The little breads have chocolate chips added to them, compliments of  10-year-old grandsons who love them that way.

We don't think too often of the electric bill to come because it's too scary but, in the meantime, heating up that oven is a joy and the things that come out of it are delicious.

HOW HAS YOUR WINTER BEEN SO FAR, (IF YOU HAVE WINTER, THAT IS)

Yes, we have winter, and it's snowing today! Susan, pumpkin bread is even better with chocolate chips added. And I love oatmeal raisin cookies. You're right, baking always warms the house up when it's so cold outside. And my electric bill is always higher in the winter. Enjoy your baked goodies, Susan. : )

We are finally having some winter weather here in Southern California. It poured rain yesterday and we had a flood advisory and the wind was howling. It's going to rain again tonight, tomorrow and finally stop on Thursday. My heat is on too. I made chocolate chip cookies last week for my grandsons. I've made them pumpkin bread before too. Kids love things like that. Good for you. The pictures look yummy.

Here in Saskatchewan, we’ve had a very mild winter. Until yesterday, my husband only used the snowblower once. A big storm is coming later today, and all that will change though.
