Short Month, Long Winter

Two candle-climbing angels, without candles, guard a glass Valentine heart.

February is inching its way to the month's end.

A glance at the calendar noted there are only
28 days in  this month.

A memorized elementary school blurb from childhood flashed through my mind.

"Thirty days has September,
April, June, and November.
All the rest have 31, except February, that has 28."

Yup.  That little ditty is still stuck in the brain after seven decades of life and that's amazing.

So it's time to take down the beautiful Valentine's Day cards, strip the dollhouse of hearts and tiny Valentines, and put away other telltale signs of the day of love.

More snow fell on top of the many inches we had already received this week.

However, it was not half as bad as some parts of Massachusetts that got whomped.

Here's goodbye to Cupid.

Hello to more thoughts of the spring, including gorgeous flowering plants and heavenly bird song,  to come!

Hope springs eternal!

I just watched the evening news and I was shocked when images of the amount of snow you all have received came up. I know you are ready for some sunshine. Yes, February is almost gone. Time is passing way too fast...

I put away all my Valentine stuff right after Valentine's Day, and I always miss is because the month is so delightful. But I am looking forward to decorating my hutch for Easter. That heart table runner next to the doll house is cute, and I love the red glass heart ornament. Yes, we will hear the birds' song soon. But like you, we had some snow, and more is expected in March. It sounds like Massachusetts got hit hard with it. Have a sweet day, Susan, and stay warm. Funny how we remember those little songs from childhood. ; )

I took my Valentine cards down the day after Valentine's day. I won't put up Easter things yet but soon. I loved all your pictures on your blog this morning. Signs of spring for sure. Enjoy the last two days of the month of February.
