While pushing a shopping cart down the aisles of Michael's (craft store) recently, we stopped to look at some of the adorable Easter items.
Many had 50% off tags in front of them.
Then a painting of tulips halted the shopping cart.
Bright, cheerful, and positively smile-producing, the painting's price was in the 50% off items.
Nope.
I made the originally intended purchases and left the store.
The tulips painting kept coming into my mind-----relentlessly.
The following morning, I decided to go back to Michaels.
If, by some miracle, the tulip painting was still there, I'd buy it as an Easter treat for myself.
If it was gone, then it wasn't meant for me to have.
It was there!
It's now in the spring gallery on the bathroom wall and I love it!
WHEN IS THE LAST TIME YOU BOUGHT YOURSELF A TREAT?

I am not a shopper so I don't buy anything to treat myself like that. I hardly ever eat ice cream but it's been so hot here I did buy a quart of mint chip ice cream at Trader Joe's over the weekend. Now that is a treat for me. Enjoy your new tulip painting,
Beautiful! And kudos to you for not making an impulse purchase...but still getting a treat for yourself! Enjoy those tulips every time you see your treat:)
So glad the tulip painting was there when you went back to get it, Susan. It's colorful and springy. I love Michael's, and it's always nice when those items are 50% off. Well, to answer your question....I will get myself a ceramic Easter bunny at my friend, A's, shop tomorrow! ; ) Enjoy that special painting, Susan.
What a cheery picture! Glad you got it.
The beautiful tulips would be hard resist. I play that same game with myself. Yesterday I was at a store and saw the cutest slippers at half off. But I was on a mission and so I didn't buy them. Later I thought, "well maybe tomorrow if they're still there." Tomorrow is today, and I forgot, all about it. No biggie. Maybe tomorrow? Lol
very beautiful picture, I would love to have one like this on the wall of my garden shed, so I can always see the beautiful tulips in bloom, not just now as they bloom in the flower beds in my yard and in the city parks
and as for gifts for myself, I just bought myself some nice big flower pots yesterday
Very pretty colors. For some reason, a lot of people I know are buying food, water, medicine, guns, ammo, gold.
Susan, I'm glad you're following my blog, I hope you'll find lots of interesting posts and photos. Best regards from Croatia.
