Protein in the Morning

A goal this spring and summer is to improve the quality of food that is eaten.

It says to be sure and include plenty of protein and fiber, plus fresh fruit and berries, in the diet.

For breakfast, in an effort to have some protein with my carb-filled biscuit, I added some delicious cottage cheese with a tiny bit of sugar and cinnamon.

For whatever reason, toasted biscuits with real butter and a thin stream of honey have become a tasty obsession.

In order to not buy them, I have to push the supermarket cart very fast when getting near them. ha!  Sometimes it doesn't work.

Fresh raspberries have also become part of today's breakfast.

Luckily, I love all kinds of berries.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT FOR BREAKFAST?

My favorite breakfast is blueberry pancakes. I try to have them on the weekend. I also love a poached egg on toast. I like bananas in cold cereal and applesauce in oatmeal. I eat cottage cheese with pineapple. I love any kind of berries.

We're somewhere here, and I'm eating cookies for breakfast, I have to listen to your good advice and add cheese and fruit.

I stopped eating breakfast last year as part of an intermittent fasting program, have two big meals in 8 hours and skip food for 16 hours. Coffee with stevia sweetener and water is about it for me in the AM, it takes a while to get used to but surprisingly the body adjusts after a week or so.
