Tanglewood: James Taylor and Carole King Concert

Tanglewood, the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, draws thousands of people from all over the world.

They come to listen to magnificent music under the stars by talented musicians and under the direction of master conductors.  Often, big names draw even more crowds, like last weekend, for the Fourth of July,  when legend entertainers James Taylor and Carole King teamed up as a "dynamite duo."

Almost 20,000 fans filled the grounds of Tanglewood to listen to the strains of "I Feel the Earth Move Under My Feet,"  "You've Got a Friend,"  "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow?" and more than 20 other selections.  The fans just about went wild with delight.

Tanglewood is a unique phenomena, in and of itself.  Prior to the start of any concert, people begin moving through the gates in masses.  They carry coolers stuffed with food and drinks for picnics on the sprawling lawn.

People, people, and more people spread blankets, set up huge umbrellas, haul lawn chairs, pull wagons filled with supplies, and, of course, eat.

Fourth of July weekend children could have their faces painted, like not-so-fierce little tiger!

There was even the opportunity to have pre-concert chair massages!

As darkness descended, guests lit candles and children swung hand-held colored light contraptions. They wore glow-in-the-dark necklaces and bracelets, too.

The night became alive with magic as the strains of Taylor's and King's voices filled the air.

After the concert, a display of dazzling fireworks brought the holiday evening to a thunderous close.

DO YOU LIKE JAMES TAYLOR AND CAROLE KING'S MUSIC?
