Tranquil Moments: Look Up Into Trees

One of the best parts of summer is stretching out in a lounge chair in the back yard and looking up into the trees.

It's amazing to think how many hundreds of years old they are. They tower above like gigantic works of art by Mother Nature.  Their leaves number in the millions as they wave gently in the breeze.

Their patterns are so varied and magnificent. Only God could have created such masterpieces.  Clouds dot the blue sky above them and an occasional bird flies gracefully by.

During such moments, it feels so good to be alive and privvy to this kind of beauty.

The late afternoon sun is now going down. Time to go into the house and start cooking supper.

Goodbye lovely trees.

Thanks for calming a soul
for a few precious moments.

DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE TREE?

  1. Every tree, is a favorite of mine. Your photographs are absolutely amazing! Our daughter has planted a tree for each of her children, and they are loving the photographs of them just growing up, like the are!

    Thanks for sharing.

  2. I would definitely say I love all trees too and wish I could find more of them here. The Ministry went through last year and ripped up any trees or bushes they thought were encroaching on alleyways or outside property boundaries. It was sickening to see all the mess they made, willy nilly. Obviously they haven't read that trees are vital to help clean the air, shade property, allow privacy and block wind and dust. It just made me sick! Especially when 4 huge trees were cut down in front of our building. I used to look out my balcony onto the treetops, now I just see the ugly roofs across the road. :/ Wishing you a beautiful week ahead. Tammy

  3. Love your view in the back yard and love the tress. We have trees everywhere here. We are from Chicago and it's flat with very little trees. Moved to GA and you can't see far at all from all the trees. We felt suffocated at first - now we love and appreciate them very much.

My favorite tree is the White Pear.

    Love,

  4. I love the trees. I remember laying on the ground and looking up like that. It has been too hot to be outside at all this summer.

  5. I adore trees. I wish I had more knowledge of the various species, but I do know a few. The weeping willow is one of my favorites, but it's hard to pick just one.

  6. A huge California Redwood is my very favorite tree. They've been here for thousands of years...so majestic!

  7. I love trees that don't lose their leaves. LOL! Like pines? This time of year I begin to get the jitters because I know those darned leaves are going to start falling, messing up my nice neat yard and I'm going to have to haul out the blower and blow them into the field and across the street. :) Yes, so I'm a tad bit OCD. But Thank you, Lord, for leaf blowers!

  8. There is a tree here in Guatemala that always blooms in summer called "Jacaranda". The tree gets rid of all of its leaves at one point, and dresses with thousands and thousands of purple flowers, which later fall on the ground, creating a magnificent carpet. There are blocks filled with Jacarandas, and it's a wonderful view. Yes. I think Jacarandas are my favorite tree.
