Simple Pleasure: Mother Nature As Artist
These days, as New Englanders are immersed in the heart of winter, my simple pleasure has got to be daily ice sculptures on the windows.
In the morning, after getting out of my warm, comfy bed and lifting up the window shades, magnificent art by Mother Nature is etched on every window pane.
Incredible designs, not one the same as the next, catch the sunlight and startle with their intense loveliness.
Who could be a better artist than the Creator? No Picasso, Michaelangelo, or Van Gogh could even begin to "paint" the windows in more exquisite designs.
Cannot wait for the art gallery display tomorrow!
Dayle, from the blog "A Collection of This and That" sponsors today's Simple Pleasures party in which Writing Straight from the Heart is participating. Please take a minute to check out all the other simple pleasure entries by clicking on :(http://alittleofthisandthat2.blogspot.com/ ).

Those are really pretty & they're all so different! =)
ReplyDeleteYou are so right - they are beautiful. In the next couple of years there will be 7 billion people on earth and not one of us has the same fingerprint either. We have an awesome creator.

Love your photos of the frosty windows. I was looking through my archives yesterday and found some that I'd taken last winter of our upstairs windows, all frosted up...and it's so funny to me that I miss that. We had our windows replaced during the summer, when we resided our home. I no longer have any frosty windows in my house....and I really do miss that.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing the beauty with us today!!
this is sooo soo pretty. HE is the best artist ever
ReplyDeleteJack Frost was by your home last night....the windows are a lovely sight!

ReplyDeleteHi Susan -
ReplyDeleteLovely pics! I especially like the feathery ones.
We've got lots of snow here, but the temps are in the mid-thirties today.
Blessings,
Susan :)
Absolutely gorgeous! Although I wouldn't want the cold, I wouldn't mind my windows looking like that every day. Around here, I've just got draby and dirty windows. :/ Hope you are having a great day. Tammy
ReplyDeleteHi Susan
ReplyDeleteYou are absolutely right - no better creator!
I remember as a kid scratching the ice with my finger nail.
Enjoy your day!

Ohhh I love these ice pictures. It reminds me in the Little House books how the girls would take Ma's thimble and make designs in the frost on the windows. That would be a lovely simple pleasure to do as a little girl. Thank you for sharing this Simple Pleasure.
ReplyDeleteBlessings in Him<><

Absolutely breathtaking! I'll tell you - ice is scary, but it sure is beautiful! We enjoyed a rare ice event down here in GA earlier this year and it was just stunning to see God's artistry in that form! You will treasure these photos for a long time!
