Seeing the pictures on television of the tsunami, mightily sweeping away homes, cars, and entire neighborhoods, was absolutely devastating.
One wondered if there were people still inside those cars as they disappeared under raging water, their lives forever changed, or gone.We never know when life is going to end. Certainly many of the Japanese people who died yesterday didn't think about their lives ending when they woke up in the morning. Yet today, thousands are gone forever from this earth.
May all those who lost their lives rest in peace. The aftermath of that disaster is sure to take years to clean up. So many lives have been lost and so many more have been forever changed.
Today, in the midst of whatever you are doing, think of the people in Japan.
As for myself, I will never, ever again take even a moment of life for granted. Each moment is, indeed, a precious gift and none of us knows when the end will come.
HAVE YOU EVER TAKEN YOUR LIFE FOR GRANTED?
Once again, mankind gets a lesson that Man is not in control here. Sad to see the pictures. I try not to to watch much TV anymore as there are always sad and ugly pictures from somewhere.
ReplyDeleteHi Susan, I didn't even find out about the tragedy until I was watching the news yesterday mid morning. I don't read the newspaper or watch the news anymore. It was so crazy to watch the water carry all those homes and cars away and things away. The magnitude of the disaster is yet to be known. The thought is overwhelming. and the far reaching affects of the quake still yet to be determined It truly leaves you gobsmacked. Prayers, blessings, hugs .. Tammy
ReplyDeleteSusan,
ReplyDeleteI watched it unfold on CNN as it was happening. It was heart wrenching and those poor people. God bless them all.
So sad. My heart aches for all those affected.
ReplyDeleteI think when something awful like this happens we reevaluate our own lives but then for me, life picks up again and I start to take the days for granted. It's so easy to forget.
ReplyDeleteI try not to take life for granted ever since I became a cancer survivor. But anyone of us could be here one minute and gone the next. This lesson I learned when my Dad died suddenly of a massive heart attack. But it is disasters like what has happened in Japan that remind us not to take life for granted.
ReplyDeleteI pray for all of those people in Japan and here in the US that are dealing with natural disasters.
Hugs,
Debbie
Oh Susan - you are absolutely right. All I can do is pray. Love, sandie
ReplyDeleteThis has touched me deeply also Susan! I have been praying for Japan and all who have suffered loss.
ReplyDeleteI am hoping I will be gone from this earth before the "big one" hits So. Cal. I can't imagine disaster like the one in Japan. God be with all those people. I never take my life for granted...Life is way too short!
ReplyDeleteI've never assumed anything about life since my son was killed. This is terribly sad & prayers are lifting for sure.
ReplyDeleteHappy St. Paddy's Day ~
Have a wonderful weekend ~
