Good Friday: A Day of Sadness and Mourning

Father, why have you abandoned me?

Today, all Christians remember. In silence, we stand at the foot of the cross and weep.

  1. Dearest Susan,

Okay, knowing now that your maternal roots are Polish I don't have to ask you about your religion. It is a very meaningful day for all of us... A heavy day but with HOPE.

    Lots of love,

    Mariette

(I can't find the post you asked me about. It must be in cyberspace.)

  4. I get so emotional at Easter - I'm always crying in Church - so many blessings.

Have you seen the movie The Passion? I could barely watch it I was crying so hard.

Have a wonderful weekend and Easter my sweet friend.

  5. Having gone to Catholic school my whole life, Easter was always a more significant religious Holy Day than Christmas. When Jesus prays in the Garden of Gethsemane and asks his father to find another way for him, I always felt overwhelming sadness for Jesus. Such sacrifice for us. Have a Blessed Easter.

  6. I love the reading of the passion and the venerating of the cross at the services today. I love the songs we sing too including Behold the Wood of the Cross.
