Is there anything more healing than spending a day and night at the beach?
The soothing sound of the waves swishing against the sandy shore:
The faraway voices of children looking for crabs:
The sad caw of the seagulls whose wings take them soaring through the sky:
Sitting in a lawn chair at water's edge, letting the waves splash up to the ankles:
Lightly fried fat-belly clams and luscious salad with yummy blue cheese dressing:
On a pond, near the sea, a swan family gracefully gliding by in silence:
Beach flowers, (wild beach roses, perhaps?), providing dabs of color:
Once totally rested and stress-free, it's important to be deeply thankful for the sea, the sea, the glorious sea.
DO YOU GO TO THE OCEAN ONCE IN AWHILE? IF NOT, WOULD YOU WANT TO?

Hi Susan! What a wonderful gift you have...living near the ocean! I do love the sound and sight of water, too. I have to settle for nearby creeks most of the time, since I live smack dab in the middle of the U.S.!
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love the ocean! We spend as much time as possible in Maine! Love this post! Have a great day!

I live close to the Pacific ocean and love it...especially on sunny hot days when the temp is just right at the beach. "By the sea, by the sea, by the beautiful sea, you and me, you and me, Oh how happy we'll be.."
ReplyDeleteThe ocean .... I wouldn't want to live without it. It is a frequent destination.
ReplyDeleteSusan,
ReplyDeleteAs you know I finally put my toes on the beach recently after an extended time. It was ;ile an annointing of healing, soothing balm.
I am determined to go back this fall.
Your pictures made me long to go back.
Chris
Susan,
ReplyDeleteThese photos take me back to a whale watch tour we took in your state. I love-love-love the ocean.
I live in country surrounded by sea with many beaches but sadly, it is polluted. We used to go there often when I first came to Kuwait, but I don't even care to go anymore because of all the litter. There are cleaner areas we could go to but we just never do. Maybe we should change that when the weather is nicer. Have a great day. Tammy
ReplyDeleteI grew up on the So Shore of MA and miss the sea terribly - - When I come back every spring it is so enjoyable to just sit at the beach and I instantly feel better!! Beautiful photos - taken where?? As for our necklaces - we should open a store (its an addiction I need to cure) If i can sell some, then I can buy more!! My friends always come over to borrow because they know I will have something to match their outfits (most are from Chicos - my fav)...enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteI have seen the Atlantic only a couple of times. From the first trip I brought home a tape of nothing but the ocean sounds so I can "go" there often.:)
ReplyDeleteHello Everybody! Hope you are all having a wonderful day today.
ReplyDeleteI want to send out a warm welcome to Lamb Around, this blog's 237th Follower. That made me SO HAPPY!
Thanks to each of you for visiting today. Hugs. Susan
Well now that Flyboy leaves near the ocean we go more often. You're right, it's very calming. Plus the food is delicious!

Lovely photos, Susan! I am not a beach person but my kids LOVE it! We have a wedding in August at the shore and my husband and I plan to stay over for a very mini vacation. I asked him if he would want to spend a little time on the beach. He looked at me and asked, "you mean with bathing suits?" I said, "yes." He then said, just stick hot pokers in my eyes." I laughed cause he's not usually so animated but I got the drift.
ReplyDeleteI can't get used to the sticky, clammy feeling and the gritty sand. And on rare occasion I do get him to the beach, he sits in a lawn chair under an umbrella with his hat, socks and sneakers. It isn't a pretty sight :) We are so boring aren't we!
I love the ocean too! Your pictures make me want to spend the day relaxing on the beach. It's so calming & peaceful! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteHello - I'm back! Yes, I would love to go to the beach - we are about five hours from it - so I am enjoying y our beautiful pictures!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I lived 3 blocks from the beach for several years when I was in my 20's and never went. So sad! Now I love to go whenever we get a chance, but we live 4 hours away :(
