Special Birthday Lunch

It's good to have a nice lunch any time but especially on a birthday.

Recently, a special guest came to our house for lunch on her birthday.

The lunch was simple but delicious.

We had a yummy salad with balsamic dressing.

One of my sisters makes dressing with Good Seasons Italian Seasoning packets, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, and water so I just followed her recipe. Added a tablespoon of sugar, too, which made it even more tasty.

Dunkin Donuts croissants are the best so we had some of those, plus, I got our guest a maple frosted donut (her fave) for dessert.

Then, fat, round raspberries tasted great just plain. Their sweet/sour goodness explodes in one's mouth.

Regulars around here are beans and rice so those were served, too.

A plop of sour cream goes on top of the beans.

Little gifties, wrapped in bright red and white paper, surrounded her plate. A couple of them sported white bows with silver sparkles.

To drink, we had Ocean Spray cranberry/raspberry juice. It's absolutely great tasting.

An extra special touch was using shiny cloth napkins.

So that was it. Simple and tasty, the birthday luncheon helped a special guest celebrate her day.

WHEN YOU HOST A BIRTHDAY LUNCH, WHAT DO YOU SERVE?

  4. What a fun way to celebrate - everything made it special I'm sure. I haven't done a lunch celebration in awhile. Salas is always a winner or soup depending on the season.

    Enjoy your week!

I never serve the same thing for a birthday meal. It's a great time to try new recipes and come up with new themes. The fun of cooking and celebrating!

    Pretty tablesetting!
