Ordinarily, a nice bowl of oatmeal makes a delicious breakfast.
Sprinkle it with cinnamon, throw on a few raisins and a small handful of pecan halves and it's a feast.
When guests are in town, however, breakfast becomes more detailed and involved.
Here's the menu at a recent Sunday morning breakfast bash:
Scrambled eggs
Crisp bacon
Rice
Beans
Fried platanos
Creme brulet French toast
Orange juice
Coffee
Lemon water
The dishes used were made in Bavaria and have beautiful little pink roses all over their edges.
I love these dishes.
My daughter and son-in-law bought them for me. I had wanted them for decades and they discovered a whole set in a thrift shop!
Would these be something you would buy?
Picked the pink flowers for the candelabra's vases in our backyard.
Water came served in the pretty goblets, shown below.
Believe it or not, I found them in Family Dollar for a buck apiece.
That was a fabulous bargain don't you think?
Having a lovely breakfast is a memorable way to welcome guests and make them feel special!
WHAT IS YOUR ABSOLUTE FAVORITE BREAKFAST IN THE WHOLE WORLD?
And WHY don't you own and operate a bed and breakfast? You are so talented and obviously enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteDid you create this fabulous breakfast? That is beyond imagining; well I know your guests were happy indeed.
ReplyDeleteI like everything on your table and I'd like to be a guest at your home for breakfast. You seem like a wonderful hostess. :-)
ReplyDeleteOh, Susan, it is all so beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteI'd like to be a guest, too! :)
ReplyDeleteI don't think I have one particular favorite breakfast. It kind of depends on the time of year, etc!
Everything looks lovely!
Your tablescape is beautiful. Yes I would buy those dinner plates.
ReplyDeleteEven though its just me and hubby, I generally fix a huge breakfast on Sunday mornings.
What a beautiful start to a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteWell done.
I love the candles at breakfast!
My favorite breakfast in the world is one where I can hear the waves hitting the rocks.
*hugs*

I love big breakfasts...to make for everyone, however, for me a doughnut, muffin, or homemade "pop tart" is what I'd grab:-))
ReplyDeleteLove your tablescape and those goblets are such a find; I'd come to breakfast anytime, XOXO
How thoughtful of your daughter and son in law - I 'd arm wrestle you for them:)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite breakfast is eggs, potatoes and onions all scrambled together, followed by oatmeal with brown sugar and banana.
Just ate a hard boiled egg for my breakfast this am:)
Enjoy your week Susan!

I have always enjoyed breakfast, so it is difficult for me to choose a favorite one. Over the week-end, however, we were out-of-town at a friend's house. She operates a bed and breakfast and served breakfast lasagna on Saturday morning. That is absolutely delicious! It takes great restraint not to eat more than a serving!
ReplyDeleteYour table is lovely, and the menu very appetizing!
Have a great Monday! xo
Your table is beautiful, like something out of a magazine! I have a great liking for dishes with roses on them, so you'd better hide those away if I'm ever in your neck of the woods! :-) My favorite breakfast would have to be cheese blintzes with fresh strawberries, such as those that IHOP serves. A side of bacon always tastes good, too, but I would not demand bacon with those luscious blintzes! Hey---strawberries are good for you, right? :-) Oh, I also love the deals I find at those dollar stores. Cheap does not always LOOK cheap!! :-) Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of creme brulet french toast - sounds intriguing. They are pretty fancy dishes for breakfast.
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful! I love a big breakfast with eggs, bacon and other sides!! Yum!
ReplyDeleteLooks like it was a lovely morning. I love trying different breakfasts around the world. And a morning mimosa would be a lovely way to start the day, too. :) Best wishes, Tammy
ReplyDeleteLooks beautiful and very inviting! I love a continental breakfast, with cereals, yoghurt, fruits, bread, cheese, juice and big cup of coffee :)
ReplyDeleteI like farlap surprise it's a fried egg on toast with cheese grilled on top .
ReplyDeleteMerle....

ReplyDeleteMy favorite breakfast is anything you want to make me! No kidding.
