Soda Box Knick Knack Rack

Years and years ago, far too many to remember exactly when, I came across a wooden box that used to hold Coca Cola.

For a long time, I used the box as a rack to display small decorations.

We moved from one town to another and then had a cross-country adventure.

The wooden box came with us.

(The little pumpkin shown above is a walnut that I painted orange and then facial features with black marker!)

Then, when we returned to the east after 12 years in the southwest, the old box came in the moving van.

What happened to it next is anybody's guess.

The box was missing and all my packed mini-decorations remained tucked in tissue paper in the attic.

Most recently, I found the box again! Yippee!

A plate from Spain came down and the box went up on a kitchen wall.

It was worth the trip to the attic to retrieve some of the mini decorations for Halloween.

Unpacking each one, some which I'd forgotten about completely, made me laugh.

Some, like the little happy-faced vampire and witch with her upturned purple shoes, sit on the edges of the shelves with their legs hanging down. So cute!

Anyway, thought I'd like to share my newly found wooden Coke case knick knack rack.

After all, there's nobody I'd prefer more than my blog peeps to share things with!

WHICH OF THE ABOVE DECORATIONS IS YOUR FAVORITE?

  1. What lovely memories you take with you. I'm very fond of miniatures; it's something my mother got interested in when she built a dollhouse with her father. The soda box is perfect to display yours, XOXO

  2. Thank you for stopping by and commenting and praying for Jonah's Missions and his sick mother.

I don't mean to moralize but I do not celebrate Hallowe'en or find the costumes cute. I know some churches/Christians try to celebrate with a substitute on Oct. 31 (I don't) as Hallowe'en has it's roots in paganism.
