It's time for the gingerbread people to hop into the oven.
So far, none have jumped off the cookie sheet and run down the street.
One of the best parts of making gingerbread men (and women and kids) is how they make the house smell.
The heavenly spice fragrance is very welcoming to any drop-in guests!
It's not hard to make gingerbread cookies. I find it's best to cut them out on the thick side.
If they get hard, you can always dunk them into coffee.
I decorated quite a few but left plenty for little people to have fun with.
Granted, some of them look like they are related to E.T. , but who cares? They are not enrolling in any gingerbread beauty contests!
There are gingerbread stars and trees, too. (I like the trees the best.)
All the supplies are ready to go, awaiting miniature bakers!
As a matter of fact, there just might be a small army of gingerbread people, trees and stars around here!
They make cute gifts, too.
It's one way to say "Merry (and yummy) Christmas!"
This made me smile.... I want to bake some soon I hope. I'm waiting for my package eagerly ;)should be here soon... Hope you have a great day. Lucy.
ReplyDeleteAdorable! I don't make gingerbread cookies but I do like sugar cookies to decorate!

Oh, yes! Gingerbread cookies are a favorite around here! I have yet to bake any this season, but they are on the list. One of our daughters also has a great recipe. I sometimes use hers. xo Nellie
ReplyDeleteThe thought of these "dunked" in coffee will NOT leave my mind the rest of the day. I'm sure of it! I'm not sure I've ever made any myself. Did I overlook it or did you share YOUR recipe????
ReplyDeleteI do not make them but I got a big one for a gift from a kid yesterday and it really smells good. I'm not a sweet eater at all so will give it to some other person soon!
ReplyDeleteCan I tell how much I needed that this morning! Your gingerbread people, like you, are a welcome part of my life, XOXO
ReplyDeleteI haven't made any this year - we usually get a bunch of people together to make and decorate them too. Love how cute yours look!

ReplyDeleteIn all my years of living and baking, I have NEVER made gingerbread cookies!! I do enjoy eating them, though, and just might have to make some regular gingerbread before long, especially after thinking about that wonderful aroma in the house! Yours are adorable, Susan!! :-)
ReplyDeleteHello from Spain: your cookies look delicious. I can not cook anything. In my house the kitchen is my husband. You are very creative in the kitchen. Keep in touch

Oh how fun. I am two days away from cookie baking...and munching.
ReplyDeleteI have never made gingerbread cookie - but yours look delicious. Now this is the thing - those cookies and having fun with them - so important not to be a perfectionist - makes it more fun.
ReplyDeleteNow I want to run into the kitchen and make some! I love 'em.
ReplyDeleteAdorable! I wanted to make some the other day but the dough wouldn't cooperate and the taste wasn't quite as I expected. Felt like something was missing. Perhaps you could share your recipe. :) Hugs, Tammy
