Mini Miracle at Christmas: Let There Be Light

Outside decorations at our house are on my husband's "to do" list.

We have opted for white lights for many years.

He does a great job stringing them on two front porch posts, a couple of bushes and so forth.

This year he added a white spiral tree that used to be on the side porch.

Lo and behold, when he set the tree up and finally plugged it in, a section of lights toward the top were dark.

I begged and pleaded with him to add more lights because, to me,  the darkened section was very  noticeable but he didn't buy it.

Too much trouble. Some of the lights were dead but the rest that worked were good enough, he said.

Well, I wasn't going to whine about such a silly thing, especially at Christmas time.

Plus, he did a great job with the rest of the lights in the yard, so be it.

Last night he came into the kitchen with a great big smile.

"A mini-miracle," he said.  I was dying to find out what it was.

Well, he had looked outside the front window and somehow, some way, the darkened section of the tree lit up on its own.

Was it the Christmas elves?

I ran to the window, looked out and felt so happy over our first Christmas mini-miracle.

HAVE YOU HAD ANY MINI-MIRACLES IN YOUR LIFE LATELY?

  1. Well I do know what your talking about - and I do get miracles - I just can't think of one right now. But I do love your yard and I love the white lights out there. And I think your husband is wonderful for doing it and wanting to do it - a miracle in itself too!

  3. This tree looks great outside! And I do love white lights. Yesterday I bought yet another stem of timed tiny lights-half price! Besides splashes of red, this house is loaded with tiny lights at night. I love the brightness...like a promise that darkness of any kind won't stay for long!

  4. I love those kind of miracles--simple and unexpected! Lovely outdoor decorations. I need to get going as I'm so behind, but happy that we have a new kitty (actually 8 1/2 year old) and my grandson is coming next week for Christmas. What else do I need!! XOXO

  5. This is a beautiful little tree, and I'm sure it brightens the entire neighborhood! As for miracles, our lives are filled with them daily, if we'll just stop using the word "coincidence." God sends us everything in His gentle way, just to bless us and remind us of His presence. :-)

  13. I love the white lights you have outside. We have two small evergreens on either side of the porch that we have trimmed with white lights. What we could really use now is a timer.:-)

Mini-miracles? I know there have been many. Just now they escape me. I must begin to make notes whenever they happen.

  14. Mini miracles are all around us...we just need to be aware of them. My little kitty was very ill recently and I though she would not make it and I prayed for her to make it through Christmas and she is now doing much better.....\0/ Your husband is a sweetie...:)
