An Early Valentine's Gift

Hello Everybody!

Hope you are having a good Friday so far!

Today we are joining Thrift Things Friday #95 on Diann's blog, The Thrifty Groove.

Stop by her blog and see all the super things you can do on a budget!

Just the other day,  I was thinking how nice it would be to have a Valentine tablecloth.

Somewhere along the way, I had found heart-covered place mats but no tablecloth.

So during a quick Goodwill stop, I crossed my fingers and headed for the linens.

Right before my very eyes was a heart-covered tablecloth!

The tag on it noted $3.50.

It has so many hearts on it that it would be impossible to count them.

It also has the words "Love and kisses" repeated hundreds of times and "Calin et Bisou." The latter, I think, means hugs and kisses in French.

Now the cloth has been washed well and adds a very heart-felt touch to the kitchen table.

Thanks Goodwill!  So happy your stores exist!

WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT VALENTINE'S DAY?

  1. What a precious find.
My answer: dark chocolate and roses and valentines cards given and received.

  2. Oh, I definitely agree with Terra about the dark chocolate! This tablecloth is lovely, Susan, and I congratulate you once again on your timing to find it! Also, my hubby's birthday is on Valentine's Day, so I usually make something sinful for us to eat to celebrate his special day...either cherry or chocolate something, and sometimes cherry and chocolate together!

I hope you will not be adversely affected by the storm that is being predicted for the northeastern part of our nation. It sounds like it could be really bad for those in its path! Stay safe!! :-)

  15. I think Valentine's Day is the perfect antidote for mid February. Remember the exquisitely (in my mind, anyhow)decorated Valentine's Box sitting on the teacher's desk in elementary school? I admired it so and was very excited to bring in my own Valentine's to put into it.

Love the tablecloth; you seem to really hit it right at the Goodwill store. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't.

I love getting and sending cards also. Going to write mine out this snowy weekend, while I sip a hot of of chai tea. What a combo; writing out valentines and a snowstorm!
