One of the most enchanting parts of spring to me are the birds.
It's so wonderful to hear their singing in the mornings.
I added fresh water to the bird bath, which I absolutely love, and didn't have to worry about it freezing over.
It was a thrift store purchase last year and is made of wrought iron.
It even has a couple of carved iron birds permanently displayed in it.
It thrilled me recently to see a little bird fluttering his wings near the birdbath.
Spring is here! The "boidies" are back and nothing could make me happier.
HOW DO YOU ATTRACT BIRDS TO YOUR BACKYARD OR GARDEN?
We feed Pidge and the wild birds know when so they all come in the morning and after lunch, for a while we didn't realise how much was eaten by all the other birds but now we know, we are running a seed eating cafe.

Hello from Spain: I attract birds to my garden with food. I put a bowl of water and bread crumbs. I like to wake up in the morning with their songs. Your Spanish is perfect.- Keep in touch

We don't need to attract birds to our backyard - they permanently live on our citrus tree, and as I understood, some nestlings hatched few days ago, as we found little egg shells under the tree :)
That was a sweet find, Susan! My hubby makes concrete birdbaths and we sell them.They are such a great addition a yard.spring is coming..

I have tons of birds in my backyard. The best ones are the little hummingbirds who flit around all the plants and flowers....I love them!

We do not have to make any special attempt to attract birds here; they seem to find us much too easily! Once, several years ago, one even managed to crawl into the dryer vent and build a nest in the duct! We didn't even realize it was there until it pecked a hole through the duct and came flying into the kitchen!! Finally got that vent covered adequately, and we don't want to encourage any others! Your birdbath is beautiful, and I'm sure it makes a lovely addition to your yard. :-)

ReplyDeleteDiscussed getting the birdbath ready this last weekend...didn't get to it. Now it is raining, water everywhere, and temps are falling to freezing for tonight again...ah, fickle spring!

ReplyDeleteNice birdbath....we hang flowering plants and our neighbor above us has a bird feeder on their deck...the seeds filter down and we get some of their birds :)
