In the Garden of the Lord

There's a place in Massachusetts called Shelburne Falls.

It's an absolutely charming town with picturesque flowers all over the place.

The real highlight there in the spring, summer and early fall is an entire Bridge of Flowers.

There will be a couple of posts on it coming up during August
so if you like flowers, stay tuned.

The thing I want to share on this lovely Sunday in August is this:

God made so many different kinds of flowers. They come in so many shapes, sizes and colors that it's utterly astounding.

He also made all kinds of people. They, too, come in many shapes, sizes and colors.

Each flower and person is unique and exquisitely beautiful in their own way, don't you think?

Some of God's flower creations are not only gorgeous to look at, their fragrance is heavenly.

He is such a good and generous Father to His earthly children.

May your Sunday be  very happy and blessed in an extra special way.

ALL THE FLOWER PHOTOS SHOWN IN THIS POST I TOOK ALONG THE BRIDGE OF FLOWERS IN SHELBURNE FALLS.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE FRAGRANT FLOWER?

  6. Oh, yes ... I often compare friends to flowers. God certainly has an imagination, doesn't He?

As for my favorite fragrant flower, it's still the classic rose, but I don't like any imitation fragrances, like rose-scented candles, spray, etc. They can't do the rose justice.

  10. These are all gorgeous, Susan! Thank you for sharing them with us today! My very favorite fragrant flower is the tube rose, but they are not very common. My dad had a small one when we were growing up, and the fragrance would fill the entire front yard, drowning out all the other "regular" roses. Since I don't often see those, my next two favorites are tied---the rose and the carnation. I just love the pure, fresh aroma from both of these wonderful gifts of our Father. Have a lovely Sunday, Susan! :-)

  11. Hi Susan! One flower after the other...so gorgeous! That one with the purple and white stripes is so different.

I have allergies, so high fragrance and me don't get along to well. I go for the splashy colors! The blue hydrangea you have there is beautiful :)

    Happy Sunday!

  12. Never have been to Shelburne Falls, but it is on my list of places to see within driving distance.

The bridge of flowers must be something to see. Your photos were gorgeous! Flowers are truly one of life's gifts.

My favorite flower fragrance is probably the lilac; brings back such great childhood memories and is such a old fashioned and romantic scent.

  15. Susan,
Me and you are thinking the same thing lately my dear, as my post yesterday was about the different colors of roses and how unique and special we all are. Your flowers are beautiful, and it's amazing how many different kinds that God has made for us to look at every day.

    Enjoy your week, sweet friend.

    Love,
    ~Sheri
