Sunlight filtered through age-old trees, creating lovely patterns.
Many times, like life, it was impossible to see what was ahead.
The road twisted slightly, then plunged forward through the woods and past a picturesque pond.
As long as I concentrated on the beauty of nature, enjoying each second's transformation, all was okay.
God was with me all the way.
Eventually I got to my destination.
And so it is with life.
We cannot predict the future, we know not what is ahead, but we can enjoy the "now" to the hilt.
And it's an unforgettable journey.
WHAT IS ONE LITTLE THING TODAY IN WHICH YOU CAN FIND JOY?
Such great images. I'd love to meander down that road.
ReplyDeleteThe best thing about my day was having my dear parents sitting around my table for the evening meal. So blessed.
That was a lovely drive.
ReplyDeleteMerle......
Simple joy....a pot of tea: boiling, steeping, pouring, sipping...contentment in a cup.
ReplyDeleteThe beautiful sunshine pouring through my bedroom window and me anticipating what today will bring! God is awesome and his bountiful beauty never ends.

ReplyDeleteOh Susan, this is gorgeous. I love these photos. How did you fight the feeling of wanting to stop and just lay down on the grass?
ReplyDeleteThe image of the journey and the journey's end is just so gentle and beautiful too. I loved this post.
Peace,
Ceil
What beautiful pictures and what a beautiful journey! Such is life too!
ReplyDeleteThank you for taking us along on your ride, and for the reminder to enjoy the journey. Today hubby and I took our black lab to a pond for a swim. It was a beautiful warm afternoon with a light breeze. Trees are starting to turn golden, and the blackberries are ripe. My favorite bird, the chickadee was singing...Bliss!
ReplyDeleteMunching popcorn, sipping a strawberry daquiri and watching pre-season football. :) Kit
