Some friends who bless our lives are life-long treasures.
I feel that way about a dear soul I met in the southwest during one of the most difficult times of my entire life.
When she came into my world, it felt like an angel had finally arrived to give peace to my soul and it's been that way ever since.
Truly, she is just like a sister to me.
Even when I moved 3,000 miles away, our friendship continued with long-distance phone calls and enough all occasion cards, throughout the years, to fill several baskets.
It even continues to this day!
Of the hundreds of things she taught me, one was to celebrate your birthday not just on the day you were born but for the entire month!
At first I thought that was impossible to do but guess what? It's not.
As a matter of fact, it's fun!
September is my birthday month and two people who know I celebrate all month long have already given me gifts.
A sweet and dear friend came over right on September 1st with a birthday card and a bouquet of lovely white and yellow flowers. She made the arrangement herself!
So now it's September 5th and I can't wait to see what the rest of the month will hold!
Right now, I feel so blessed and filled with gratitude to be alive!
After all, life, itself, is a miraculous gift and every day we wake up and are still breathing is a day to celebrate!
DO YOU CELEBRATE YOUR BIRTHDAY ALL MONTH, TOO?
IF NOT, WOULD YOU LIKE TO?
Yes I do celebrate all month...when you reach your golden years every birthday and every DAY counts. Enjoy your birthday month Susan.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Susan! :) It sounds fun to celebrate all month long! Love the idea, though I would not like... It is okay to one special day in a year... I love it, because my hubby always makes me feel special on this day! I look forward to it :)
ReplyDeleteHello from Spain: I like your idea of celebrating the birthday all month. Congratulations on your birthday. I wish for you one months very happy. Each day is a gift. Keep in touch
ReplyDeleteWell! Yes, I would like to celebrate all month! Actually, our oldest daughter was born on my birthday, and my husband's birthday is two days later - in April. My sister begins the month with a birthday on the first, so it really is a month that could hold celebrations all month long!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, Susan!
No, I celebrate on my birthday and the fact that I have outlived so many of my friends already and I am not that old.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday month to you! I have a friend whose birthday is this month and kept wanting to send her a message that said HAPPY BIRTHDAY MONTH TO YOU so you have reminded me that I still need to do that. :) Enjoy and have a wonderful day. Tammy
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday month to you, Susan! As Nellie (my sister) mentioned, I am an April Fool baby, so I accept good wishes whenever anyone sends them, and these days, I just tell folks that it takes longer to celebrate because I have so many years built up! Other special events for us in April are the anniversary of our daughter's wedding on the 23rd and the birthday of our oldest grandson on the 13th, as well as our DIL's mother's bday on the 30th, so April is a very special month around here, and there are many causes for celebration. I hope your entire month will be filled with joy and blessings from near and far! :-)
ReplyDeleteOops....Daughter's anniversary is the 22nd! Need to proofread more carefully! :-)
ReplyDeleteOh dear Susan, have a wonderful Sept. birthday and a blessed new year of life. Mine is next, lol.. My daughter will the 16th. and Son'in'law's the 15...lovely month.
ReplyDeleteYourflowers are gorgeous! Thank you for your sweet and kind visit.
Big hugs,
FABBY
Hi Susan - My husband probably feels like I do because beginning from July on he hears, "Well, my birthday is coming up, you know!" even though my big day isn't until October. LOL Happy birthday to you!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday ALL month :)
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of an all-month celebration! :) My birthday is in a month when there are a bunch of family birthdays and it is at a time when our daughter and family are visiting from another state. Needless to say it is a very busy time so my birthday seems to zoom by with all the activity.
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are so pretty!
I remember my mother-in-law always managed to stretch her birthday celebration for a week, but a whole month! Wow. Happy Birthday to you and enjoy your month of surprises.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! I hope your birthday month is the best ever! And, no, I don't celebrate all month. Sometimes not even on the day -- but I plan to change that. Thanks for the inspiration! My birthmonth is May :)
ReplyDeleteI sure do celebrate all month. Hey at our age - we deserve it.
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY EARLY!
