Copy Cat Curio

I'm a copy cat.

There. I've admitted it.

A couple of weeks ago, at a dear friend's house, she showed me ethnic shelves in her curio cabinet.

(She was the inspiration for mine, shown below)

She had Russian nesting dolls, Ukrainian eggs, dolls and so on.

"Hmmmmm," I thought. "I have tons of those lovely ethnic remembrances."

So I decided to create a couple of ethnic shelves in my own curio cabinet which was my Mom's.

Some of the mini dolls got moved down and are kind of crowded on a lower shelf.

It  holds various china statues and a Blessed Mother replica.

There are all kinds of sweet ceramic pieces near the Blessed Mother, like this little girl feeding her lambie pie

Hope my Mom and Grandmother can look down from heaven and see remembrances of my maternal Polish heritage.

I just  love the Polish dolls and Polish and Ukrainian eggs on the first two shelves!

DO YOU HAVE REMEMBRANCES IN YOUR HOME OF YOUR OWN ETHNIC HERITAGE?

  9. Lovely keepsakes, Susan, recalling your ancestry.

I have such a combination in my heritage - Irish, German, Cherokee - and really have little that pertains to that history.

  10. I don't because I am a mutt - 5 or 6 nationalities. But I love the Polish tradition because my hubs is Polish.

Hey when people show you ideas - you are supposed to copy!
