Little Scenes Around the House

It's so much fun to create little scenes here and there throughout the house.

One doesn't have to spend a lot of money either.

Most of the decorations and even furniture around here has been found at estate and yard sales or even thrift shops!

Take the little rocking chair in today's post.  There were two of them on the side of the road!

I stopped the car, asked the owner of the house if the chairs were free and she said to take them away!

Both got a couple coats of white paint.

The little lacy heart pillow and rectangle pink pillow came from a thrift shop.

Lambie pie was a gift from my sweet niece.

My granddaughter loves removing everything from the chair and getting on it herself but when she goes home, the scene gets recreated!

Joining Home and Garden Thursday on Kathy's sweet blog, A Delightsome Life. Thanks for hosting, Kathy!

  3. I have an old refinished dresser at the end of my livingroom that is wonderful for storing tablecloths, placemats, etc. On top I have an antique plate of one grandma's, a cup and saucer of another's, and a small plate of my mother's, a red "wine pot" from China, a big ceramic rose blossom that holds a tea candle from my granddaughter, two tiny bowls of my great aunt's which also hold tea candles, and a cute little lamp that I bought from a discount store years ago - all sitting on a tapestry table runner. On the wall over all of this are two antiques of grandma's, a reproduction schoolroom clock from my husband, and a quaint picture from my son that has the words, "As for me & my house, we will serve the Lord." It brings me joy every time I look at it.
